PAST EVENTS - 2016-2017 School Year
We have set a budget for the following:
- new equipment for the Full Day Kindergarten classes
- in school Plays and Presentations, Author visits, etc.
- Jungle Sport (a week long experience taking place inside our gymnasium in January)
- Events including: Grade 5 Graduation, Pancake Day, Family Skate Day, Staff Appreciation Day, Beach Day, Play Day & Grandparents (Halloween) Tea.
- NEW Technology including Chrome books, iPads, Osmo learning systems, etc.
- subsidizing various School Field Trips ($10 per child)
- In-class education programs, e.g. Scientist in the School, etc

In 2000, Lamontagne became the first Canadian chocolate manufacturer to be certified 100% peanut-free, and are still one of the few to offer nut-free items as well. All products are Kosher and are entirely made in Canada, with exclusive recipes using only fresh ingredients of the highest quality.

The 1st Millwood Book Fair was a big success! Thanks to the many parents and teachers who volunteered their time to help out.
All profits go back into acquiring books and supplies for our Millwood library.

Millwood is very lucky to have parents like Marisa & Peter Salituro who run their own company, Ultimate Party Services. A big thanks to them for donating the big balloon towers and lighting to use at the kids dance/party/concert this week! Their generous donation really helped kick things up a notch!

Family Fun Skate - Sat January 28, 2017
This was held at the West Deane Park Outdoor Ice Rink. Thanks to Katie and her Volunteers who organized this family event and provided the hot chocolate!

This is one of the Home & School Associations largest funded events and we thanks all our parent supporters for making this happen each year.

Pancake Day! (Shrove Tuesday) - Tuesday Feb 28, 2017 - 'brunch'
What a success! A big 'thanks' to the many volunteers who managed to feed all our Millwood students two pancakes, syrup and a drink in under 3 hours! So many smiling faces keep this tradition alive.

Beach Day! - March 10, 2017
All Millwood Students got to wear 'beach' wear and enjoyed a cool treat provided by H&S.

Math Night! - Mon. March 6, 2017
The 'Millwood Loves Math' Night was a BIG success, with a large turnout of parents and their children eager to learn and engage in some math related fun!!

Each class will be scheduled for one of the 1/2 days programs being planned. We need classroom volunteers to escort the classes, as well as donations of snacks/food and assorted craft supplies. Questions about the event?

2017-18 H&S Budget Planning - May 2017

Thanks to the over 100 Millwood Parents who took the time to complete our online budget survey! The winner of the draw for a $50 Best Buy Gift Card was the Melniks.
​
Taking the results of the survey, and consulting with admin and staff, H&S Executive presented a Draft Budget at the May H&S meeting (can be viewed by clicking on the 'Budget' button on the bottom of the 'Meetings' page. All parents are invited to attend the June AGM / Election meeting where it will be discussed and ratified.
​
Some highlights from the survey:
- 67% supported just paying a cash donation for our fundraising
- #1 item to drop (35%) was the $10 field trip subsidy
- 57% would be interested in a milk program at our school.

A Millwood Tradition! A year-end day of Fun and Games. Each Child will receive a cold treat compliments of H&S.
